Amerigroup Named to 2012 “Best Places to Work in Virginia” List

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Wednesday, February 29, 2012) – Amerigroup Corporation (NYSE: AGP) has been named one of Virginia’s Best Places to Work for the second consecutive year by the Best Companies Group.

Amerigroup associates in Virginia were selected randomly last fall by the Best Companies Group to complete an outside survey – an initiative used to identify and recognize Virginia’s best employers. As a result of the associates’ responses, Amerigroup received the honor in the large employer category. The full results are in the February issue of Virginia Business magazine.

“This award is a testament to our dedicated employees who help make Amerigroup a different kind of health insurance company,” said Linda Whitley-Taylor, Amerigroup executive vice president of Human Resources. “Our goal is to represent not only an employer of choice but also a career destination with clear paths for advancement. We offer our associates the opportunity to play key roles in the dynamic health care industry, make a difference in the communities we serve and positively change the lives of our members who need a little help.”

The Best Companies Group ranked companies in 10 categories, including employee stock options, 401(k) retirement plan, health plan offerings, telecommuting opportunities and tuition reimbursement.
